Edwin Hubbard Ewing of Fort Myers, Florida and formerly of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully Monday, July 4, 2016 in Hope Hospice at Shellpoint. He was 87. He was born October 4, 1928 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Wylie Barker Ewing and Elizabeth Hubbard Ewing. Edwin was a graduate of The Citadel of Charleston, South Carolina and spent his professional career as an investment banker. He proudly served and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Edwin has been a resident of the southwest Florida community since 1990. He was a past member of the Cherokee Town and Country Club in Atlanta, Georgia and the Cypress Lake Country Club of Fort Myers, Florida. Edwin is survived by his loving wife of 61+ years, Melba Ewing; their four children, Wylie Ewing, Craig Ewing, Susan Forde and Christopher Ewing. He also leaves his brother, Wylie Hubbard Ewing; five grandchildren, Stuart Elizabeth Ewing, Edwin Wylie Ewing, Graham Forde, Katherine Forde Wilson and Daniel Forde. He is also the great grandfather of Everleigh Jude Forde and Emerson Forde. Immediate funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
