Harry M. Hutchings Jr. of Vestavia Hills, AL passed away June 27, 2016. He was born in Mobile Alabama on Sept. 11, 1936 to the late Harry and Katherine Hutchings. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean Hunter Hutchings, also of Mobile, two daughters, Tracey Hutchings Powell (Arthur III) of Mobile and Ellen Hunter Hutchings of Birmingham, two grandsons, Arthur Powell IV and Hunter Powell, and granddaughter Cate Hutchings. He was a graduate of Murphy High School and The Citadel. He served in the US Army Active Reserves and worked for C&S Bank of Atlanta before joining the former Exchange Security Bank, now Regions Bank, where he retired as Executive Vice President after 36 years. He was past President of the Homewood Lions Club, past Chairman of Alabama Goodwill Industries, Inc., a lifelong member of The Citadel Alumni Association and a member of Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church. There will be a memorial service at Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church in Vestavia on Wednesday, July 6 at 2pm with visitation to follow. The Reverend David Carboni will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Mountain Chapel, 2541 Rocky Ridge Road, Birmingham, Alabama 35243 or The Autism Society of Alabama.
