Lt Col Murray T. (Skip) Guptill, Sr., USAF, Ret., 83, of Spring Hill, FL, died June 8, 2016. LTC Guptill spent almost 16 years overseas during his 28 year career in the Air Force and although he was a Weapons Controller and later a Weapons Director Staff Officer in the Weapons Controller field, he had covered the gamut doing everything from teaching computer language to being a Squadron Commander at Duke Field near Eglin Air Force Base. Skip’s foreign tours included Korea, Germany, Italy and a final second tour in Germany before retirement. He was an advisor to the ROKAF, in Seoul, Korea; member of the test team that installed the 412L radar system, Giebelstadt, Germany; was assigned to 5 ATAF, Vicenza, Italy, as a Staff Officer; was assigned to the Sector Operations Center at Kindsbach, Germany as the Senior American Officer. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for Lockheed in Saudi Arabia and for the Boeing Company, where he retired before moving to Florida in 1996. He is survived by his loving family and friends.
