Class of 1989 classmates, Dr. James S. Klauber and Dr. Joel D. Welch, Jr., met at the summer meeting of Community Colleges of Appalachia in Asheville, N.C. Klauber is president of Hagerstown Community College in Maryland and Welch is president of Western Piedmont Community College in North Carolina. They are two of three alumni who are currently college presidents; the third is Gen Glenn M. Walters, USMC, Ret., ’79.
