Mr. Momeier was born November 7, 1932, in Charleston, SC, a son of Roland H. Momeier and Juanita Beach Momeier. He was a proud graduate of The Citadel class of 1954 and also a proud US Air Force Veteran. After serving in the Air Force, he joined on with Nations Bank, formerly Citizens & Southern National Bank, and eventually became the Vice President after working with them for nearly 30 years. His work would take the family around the Southeast until they found themselves back at the Isle of Palms. Upon retiring, Mr. Momeier opened a handyman business which he subsequently had to close after 4 years as it left him no time to fish. His family would eventually settle permanently in Cross. Once he was back in the country, he enjoyed riding his tractor, raising chickens and guineas, and piddling in his workshop. He was a former member of the Charleston Yacht Club and loved to fish with his wife Mary, especially in the saltwater. He also loved to bird hunt and even went to Argentina on a hunt for doves and pigeons. Mr. Momeier was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammie Cameron.
