Robert “Bob” Lee Moore, Jr., 70, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road. A private committal service will be held in Ohio at a later date.
Bob was born August 3, 1945 in New Orleans, LA, son of Robert Lee Moore, Sr. and Margaret Brown Moore. He graduated from Portsmouth High School in Portsmouth, OH in 1963 and from The Citadel in Charleston, SC in 1967. He was a human resource and labor relations manager with the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Piketon, OH. He retired in 2003 and relocated to Mt. Pleasant, SC where he worked as a teacher’s assistant in special education in the Charleston County School District until his retirement in December of 2015. Bob was a lifetime member of The Citadel Alumni Association and was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Portsmouth, OH.
He is survived by two sons, Christopher Wade Moore (Anne); and Robert Scott Moore; grandchildren, Durham and Presley, all of Mount Pleasant, SC; brother, Richard A. Moore of Portsmouth, OH; sister, Rebecca Wagner (Richard) of Upper Arlington, OH; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Penn Moore.
