Frank Calhoun Easterby, 87, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Lorraine Mahailey Cox Easterby entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 7, 2015. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 in Bethel United Methodist Church, 57 Pitt Street, at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. Frank was born December 31, 1927 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Hugh Easterby and Vergie Catherine Ginn Easterby. He graduated from The High School of Charleston and was a 1952 graduate of The Citadel. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Army and later transferred to the U.S. Air Force. Frank retired from American Mutual/Unison Insurance Company. He was a life member of and Past President of The German Friendly Society, a life member of The Arion Society, and he was Past President of the DPMA (now AITP) Association. He was also on the board of officers of The Washington Light Infantry, where he was chairman of the Armory Committee. Frank was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where he was on many committees and was lay leader for three years. He was very active in the food bank distribution program and the counting committee. He was also very active in the Clyburn Sunday School Class, where he was treasurer for many years and an active member of Bethel Men’s Club. Frank was a member of the Mended Hearts and The Citadel Alumni Association. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Lorraine Davis Swifhouser (Howard); granddaughter, Mahailey Davis Amos (Mark); great-granddaughter, Aria Mahailey Amos; brother, John Ginn Easterby, Sr.; four nieces; seven nephews; many grand-nieces and nephews; god-sons, Steven Easterby and Douglas Ward, and god-daughters, Caroline Palmer and Elizabeth Yawn. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary, and three brothers, Hugh, Jr., Earl, and William (Bill) Easterby.
