Residence, Isle of Palms, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. William Crayton Walters, Jr. are invited to attend the funeral services of the former, Thursday, December 27, 2007 at ten-thirty-o’clock in Sunrise Presbyterian Church on Sullivan’s Island, the Dr. Vance Polley officiating. Family visitation will follow the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. Burial will be private. Mr. Walters was born July 20, 1933 in Lumberton, NC, the son of William Crayton Walters and Elizabeth Regan Walters. He was a 1955 graduate of The Citadel and served with the United States Air Force, where he became a Fighter Pilot. He later joined Eastern Air Lines and was a Captain and a Manager of Flying. He was part of the original development team of Wild Dunes Resort. He owned Island Realty and Beachside Real Estate, on the Isle of Palms, the latter which he was associated with at the time of his death. He was a member of Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Sullivan’s Island. He is survived by his wife; three sons: W. Crayton Walters, III and his wife Louisa of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Dr. John F. Walters and his wife Martha of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Lt. Col. Greg N. Walters and his wife Julie of Charleston, SC; two brothers: Regan Walters of Alpharetta, GA and Neil Walters of Myrtle Beach, SC; and eight grandchildren.
