WEST, Douglas Douglas Allen West, 54, of Hilton Head Island, died Monday at his home. He was born on October 30, 1951 in Camden, SC and was the son of Lois Rhame West of Hilton Head Island and the late Governor John C. West. He was a lifetime resident of South Carolina. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Citadel class of 1974. He served in the US Air Force. He owned Westwind Entertainment. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hilton Head Island. Besides his mother, he is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, John C. and Flonnie West of Camden; a sister and brother-in-law, Shelton W. and Bill Bosley of Hilton Head Island; two brothers-in-law, Shelton W. and Bill Bosley of Hilton Head Island; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Broadbent of Malaysia and Dr. and Mrs. Andrew Broadben of Brevard, NC; numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend, Serena G. Crumley of Hilton Head Island. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his wife Susan Broadbent West in 1995. Friends will be received from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at The Island Funeral Home and Crematory, 4 Cardinal Road, Hilton Head Island. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at The First Presbyterian Church. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Camden. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Foundation, P.O.
