Thomas Edward Watson, Jr., born September 29, 1921 in Atlanta, Georgia, died peacefully October 18, 2006 at Manor Care in Decatur, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edward Watson, Sr. and Idele Tumlin Watson of Winnsboro, SC. He graduated from the Citadel in 1942, served overseas in Europe and North Africa in the United States Army as an artillery captain. After the war he attended the University of Virginia Law School. He worked for Westinghouse Lamp Division from 1953 until his retirement in 1986 as the southeastern sales manager. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Cantley Watson; his two sons, Thomas Edward Watson, III and his wife Mary, Dave Watson and his wife Judy, both of Atlanta, GA. He had five grandchildren, Chris, Kelly, Morgan, Jacy, and Andrew. His extended family includes Mary Orvin of Georgetown, SC and Jennifer and Curt Boren of Alpharetta, GA. Services for Mr. Watson are to be held Friday, October 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church on Oak Grove Rd., Decatur, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes contributions to be sent to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 1722 Oak Grove Rd, Decatur, GA 30033. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Friday morning. A. S. Turner & Sons
