STATESBORO, Ga. Mr. Arnold Breman A.B. Anderson, 78, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. Mr. Anderson was a native of Walnut Ridge, Ark., grew up in Statesboro, Ga., and was a graduate of Statesboro High School. Mr. Anderson was active with the American Legion for many years and was a member of Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter of Statesboro. He was a member of the Statesboro Chamber of Commerce and was a past member of the Jaycees. Mr. Anderson was a Sunday school teacher for many years at Aiken First Baptist Church. He graduated from the University of Georgia Law School in 1948 and also attended The Citadel in Charleston. Mr. Anderson was a veteran of World War II and was enlisted in the Naval Air Corp in 1943 until July of 1946. He retired as a commander with the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1975 and after serving a total of 32 years. He also practiced law in Statesboro from 1948-1950 and then became an FBI agent. Mr. Anderson worked for the Department of Energy at the Savannah River Site from 1952-1980. He was a member of the Statesboro First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School class. Surviving are his wife, Reba Barnes Anderson of Statesboro; one son, Joseph Ashley Anderson, of Aiken; a daughter, Mabry Anderson Clements, of North Augusta; four granddaughters; a brother, Bobby Joe Anderson, of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Anderson will be Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. at Statesboro First Baptist Church with Dr. H. William Perry officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jody Stubbs, Bill Stubbs, Jappy Akins, Tommy Blitch, Greg Anderson and Hal Roach. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Visitation will be held today from 4-7 p.m. at Hodges-Turner-Anderson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Statesboro First Baptist Church, 108 North Main St. Statesboro, Ga. 30458 or the Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o James Deal, 210 Jonathan Rd.
