ROBERTS, JR., Eugene Eugene Edgar Roberts, Jr., of Mt. Pleasant, SC, died on Wednesday, December 14, 2005. The relatives and friends of Eugene Roberts, are invited to attend his graveside service on Saturday, December 17, 2005 in Magnolia Cemetery, at one o’clock. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Mr. Roberts was born November 6, 1918, in Charleston, SC, the son of the late Eugene E. Roberts, Sr. and Grace Elizabeth House Roberts. He graduated from the Citadel, the class of 1940 and served in the US Navy in World War II from 1942 until 1946. After the war he returned to the family business as Owner and President of Roberts Supply Inc. The business was started in 1871 by his grandfather. Mr. Roberts remained active in the business until his retirement in 1984. He was very active in sailing and was past Commodore of the Charleston Yacht Club. He was founder of the Citadel Yacht Club. Mr. Roberts was a member of the Charleston Country Club, Arion Society and the Lions Club. He is survived by two sons, Eugene Edgar Roberts, III and John Randel Roberts, both of Mt. Pleasant, SC., his former wife, Annette Zeigler Roberts of Mt. Pleasant, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
