Robert R. SettleRobert R. Settle, also known as Papa, passed away on May 9th, 2005. He leaves his High School Sweetheart and wife, Diana, of 51 years, his daughter Cathy Caliguire, and four grandchildren, Meaghan, Eryn, Jake and Ian — the joys of his life. He is also survived by a brother, Bill.Bob, born and raised in Georgia, graduated from the Citadel with a B.S. Degree in Business and a Commission in the Air Force. Bob’s career brought him to California, in 1970, to work on the Apollo Space Program. He then moved to the Bay Area for employment with Singer Corp. He was a major systems developer of the cash register scanning system now in use nationwide with customer merchandising. His career continued until retirement from Bank of America as a Tandem Expert. Contract employment with Dynamic Computer Systems kept him busy through the Y2K conversion, taking him all around the world.Bob was Past President of Ross Valley Kiwanis, Boy Scout Leader with the Cedars School in Ross, and active with Friends of Bill W.Bob’s favorite times were being with his grandchildren. Papa was at all sporting events, practices, musical concerts and achievement award programs. Papa’s kids were the lights in his life.
