Randall Ray Bell, Jr., 85, passed away Friday, September 30, 2005. A native of Pensacola, Florida, he was preceded in death by his parents Randall Ray Bell and Petrea Olsen Bell. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Lurton Bell; Elizabeth Mackey Bell; his children, Harry (Martha), Randy (Peggy), Hank (Jayne), Judy B. Prim (Jim) and Caroline B. Chadbourne (Ed); his sisters Barbara B. Marcoux of Tucson, AZ, and Judy B. Perry and Shirley B. Mertins; sister-in-law, Harriett Ann Lurton Major; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Randall attended public schools in Pensacola, the Citadel and graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the U. S. Army from 1942-1946 in the European Theater with the rank of Captain in the Armored Field Artillery. Randall was the founder of Bell Steel Company. A member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, where he served on the Vestry, Finance and Planning Committee, and as Jr. and Senior Warden. Randall was past president of the Pensacola Rotary Club, Pensacola Country Club, Junior Chamber of Commerce, University of West Florida Foundation, and Children’s Home Society of Florida; also past vice-president of the Pensacola Chamber of Commerce, past member of Baptist Hospital Advisory Committee, member of City of Pensacola Planning Commission 1961-1963, DeLuna XVIII, and Fiesta of Five Flags. A memorial service will be held at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2005 with the Rev. Lester Durst officiating. A reception will be held in the Parish Hall following the service. Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 3200 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32503, or a charity of your choice.
