Lebegern, Jr., age 80, of Elizabethtown, Pa., died Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, Pa. Born in Trenton, N.J., Mr. Lebegern had been a resident of Lower Makefield Twp., Pa., for over 38 years, moving to Elizabethtown, Pa., four years ago. Mr. Lebegern was a graduate of Morrisville High School, a graduate of The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina with a B.A. degree, a graduate of Temple University with an M.Ed. degree, and four years of graduate studies at Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Lebegern retired from the Morrisville School District as a school teacher, Department Chairman, Supervisor of Curriculum, and Social Studies K-12. He also served as Director of Pennsbury Social Studies Abroad Program in Luxembourg. George was a past president of the Morrisville Rotary Club, past master of Bristol Lodge No. 25, F. & A.M., member of the Phi Delta Kappa honorary educational fraternity, Sons of the American Revolution the Philadelphia-Continental Chapter, Scottish Rite Consistory, Valley of Trenton, Association of Citadel Men, The Morrisville Presbyterian Church, and a charter member of the Historic Morrisville Society. Mr. Lebegern has been the author of the following books: Episodes in Bucks County History; a Bicentennial Tribute (1776 – 1976), 200th Anniversary History of Bristol Lodge No. 25, F. & A.M., Building A House Unto the Lord; a thirty-year history of the First Presbyterian Church of Morrisville. Son of the late George F., Sr. and Margaret M. (Foose) Lebegern, he is survived by his wife, Patricia L. (Capple) Lebegern; three children, George F. Lebegern, III and his wife Marie and their son, Joseph, of Morrisville, Pa.; Geoffrey M. Lebegern and Susan Toner and son Wesley, of Linden, Pa.; Pattie K. Margolis and her husband Roy and daughter Sarah, of Enola, Pa.; a sister, Helen E. Chokey, of Morrisville, Pa.; and several cousins. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 31, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, Pa., with the Rev. Trent Hancock, Associate Pastor of the Morrisville Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Morrisville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Morrisville Presbyterian Church, 771 N.
