Lindenzweig Jr. – Hanover Courthouse,VA Date of Death: 01/07/2007 Notice Lindenzweig Jr., Carl Robert LINDENZWEIG Carl Robert Lindenzweig Jr. of Hanover Courthouse, Va., died Sunday, January 7, 2007. He was born in Chester, S.C. January 13, 1920 to the late Carl Robert Lindenzweig and Mamie Timme Lindenzweig. He grew up in Kershaw, S.C. and was a 1942 graduate of the Citadel in Charleston, S.C. He was a Captain, U.S. Army Artillery, during WWII, in the Pacific Theater. He retired as President of Virginia Wood Preserving Corp. in 1981. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Hanover Courthouse and served as a vestryman and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Courthouse Ruritan Club and served on the Board of Assessors for Hanover County. He was a life member of the Association of Citadel men. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Bailey Lindenzweig; son, C. Robert Lindenzweig III and wife, Candace; daughter, Julie L. Bode and husband, Robert, all of Richmond; daughter, Cecelia L. Anderson of Cary, N.C.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 47 years, Johnnie Knight Lindenzweig; son, William Paul Lindenzweig; and his brothers, William Timme Lindenzweig and Jack Mueller Lindenzweig. The family will receive friends at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Hanover Courthouse at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 11. Services will be at 2 p.m. with interment in the church cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 441, Hanover Courthouse, Va. 23069.
