MOULTRIE, Ga. – Mr. James Edwin Baell, 78, of Tallakos Road, entered into rest November 14, 2001 at his residence. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2001 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Eubanks, Rev. Ronnie Mills and Mr. Arthur Sonny Rich officiating. Interment will be in Westview Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Marolyn Rowland Baell of Moultrie; sons, James R. Bo Baell and wife LesLee of Moultrie; daughters, Lynn B. McCoy and husband D. S. Buddy of Moultrie, Lou Beth B. Parker and husband Glenn of Moultrie; brother, Johnny Spooner and wife Ethel Claire of Moultrie; sisters, Betty Baell of Modoc, S.C. Dorothy B. Cox and husband Jerry of Moultrie, Sherry McLeod and husband John of Leesburg, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, Debbie Goss, Todd Parker, Lara Littleton, Stephanie Stanfill, Anna Miller, Brad Baell, Donna Michels, Kristi McCoy, Mikki Benford, Brian Baell and Stan McCoy; 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Chapel. The family may be contacted at the family residence at 304 Tallakos Road, Moultrie, Ga. 31768. Mr. Baell was the owner of Baell Mercantile Co. and a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a WW II Marine veteran.Mr. Baell was a graduate of Moultrie High School and the Citadel. He was a member of the Moultrie High School Band and the Citadel Band. Mr. Baell was the second in command in the Marine Detachment on the USS Little Rock. In the spring of 1946 Mr. Baell returned to Moultrie, and joined the family business which was established on January 2, 1923. Mr. Baell was a supporter of Youth Activities and sponsorer of The Home Improvement Award given annually by the F.F.A. and supporter of all high school athletic events. He was also past president of the Southern Hardware Association. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Florida School for The Deaf and Blind, 207 N. San Marco Ave. St. Augustine, Fla. 32084, or The Colquitt County Hospice or charity of your choice. Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Phone 229-985-3704 -November 16, 2001
