Kendrick Hubbard Richmond COLUMBIA – Service for Kendrick Hubbard Richmond, 70, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Shandon United Methodist Church, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ashley, Jimmy Swan, Billy Barron, Joe Smith, Lamar Hammett and Jim McKinnon. Memorials may be made to The Citadel Foundation, The Citadel, 171 Moultrie Street, Charleston, SC 29409, the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210 or a charity of one’s choice. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Mr. Richmond died Monday, June 4, 2007. Born in Barton, Vt., he was a son of the late Kendrick Hubbard Richmond and Madeline Rossi Richmond Smith. Mr. Richmond was a Dreher High School graduate where he was a starting tackle with the 1954 football championship team and was a graduate of The Citadel with a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry. He was a quality assurance manager at FN Manufacturing for over 20 years and continued as a consultant after his retirement. Mr. Richmond loved hunting and fishing and was a member of Shandon United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Harriet Happy Burnside Richmond; son, Kendrick H. Richmond, III; grandson, Kendrick H. Hub Richmond, IV; stepfather, Dr. George W. Smith; brother, Dr. Eddy Richmond; stepbrother, Steve Smith, all of Columbia; stepsister, Karen Bowers of Crossett, Ark.; uncle, Dick Rossi of Westfield, Mass.; nephew, Dr. Edmond Richmond; niece, Elizabeth Tuller; and first cousins, Lane Young of New Port, Vt. and Frederick Richmond of Albany, N.Y.
