James E. Cromer Leesville, SC N/A Age Approx. Date of Death N/A 12/22/2007 Notice LEESVILLE ù James Ervin ôGooseö Cromer died Saturday, December 22, 2007, at home. Services in celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Newberry. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Jim Cromer, the son of James Adolphus ôBubö and Maggaline ôMaggieö Childers Cromer, was born July 24, 1938. Jim grew up in Newberry and was a graduate of Newberry High School and The Citadel, Class of 1960 – Company G. Mr. Cromer was a retired employee of the South Carolina Department of Social Services. He was a member of the Newberry Amity Lodge 87. He received the Eagle Scout Award at the age of 12 Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Faye Cromer of Leesville (the wilderness). Two daughters, a son and their spouses who survive him are Beverly and Mike Smith of Columbia, Jan and Jeff Estridge of Leesville, and John and Phyllis Terrapin of Columbia. His grandchildren are Leigh Taylor and her husband, Adam, Chandler Terrapin, Zachary Terrapin, and Matt Smith. Mr. Cromer is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie Cromer and Sheryl Cromer of Newberry. A very special thank you to Sheila Chariker and her staff at Hospice Care of Tri-County – Newberry including Amber Framer, Aileen Hurst, Bonnie Morrison, Mark Bredholt and Norris McClain. Thank you to his physicians including Newberry Family Practice, Dr. Jonathan Dale and Dr. Michael Bernardo. The family wishes to thank the many friends, neighbors, co-workers and family members that touched our lives through prayer and active deeds and help to provide for JimÆs loving care during his illness. A heart full of gratitude is sent to Connie Maximiek for all of her love, support and special care during JimÆs illness.
