Clarence Strother Eidson -WAYCROSS – Mr. Clarence Strother Eidson, Sr., 90, died Thursday evening, December 2, 2004 at Baptist Village after a short illness. A graveside service will be held 3:30P.M., Sunday, December 5, 2004 at Oakland Cemetery. -He is a native of Johnston, SC, but he has lived most of his life in Waycross. He graduated from The Citadel with a degree in civil engineering and was a member of the National Society of Engineers. He served in the United States Army as a captain during World War II. He was employed as a civil engineer. He was director of the Water Department for 38 years, Waycross City Manager from 1957 – 1962, and Resident Engineer for Baptist Village from 1979 – 2003. He was a member and president of the Chamber of Commerce, served on the Board of Education, and worked with the Waycross-Ware County Airport Authority. He was a member of the Victory-Keystone Sunday School Class. -He is the son of the late Herbert Glen Eidson and Ruth Strother Eidson. He is also preceded in death by son, Clarence Strother Eidson, Jr. -He is survived by his wife, Jewel Bussell Eidson of Waycross; two daughters, Benjie E. Hudson (husband, Ben) of Macon, and Judy E. Aberle (husband, Ray) of Panama City, FL; a son, Clarence Eidson, Jr. of Quitman; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. -In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baptist Village, 2650 Carswell Avenue, Waycross, GA 31501 or Hospice Satilla, 1906 Tebeau Street, Waycross, GA 31501. -Music Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
