Andrew John Mazur, 24, husband of Bryce Copeland Mazur, of 113 Mystic Court, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, in the line of duty. Born in Montana, he was the son of John Mazur, of Arizona, and Carolyn Bond, of Florida. Mr. Mazur was a deputy with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office. He graduated from The Citadel in 2001 and attended the Police Academy in Columbia. He was a member of the Greenville County Dive Team and attended Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church. He loved God, his wife, his job and his fellow officers. Surviving, in addition to his wife and parents, are his sister, Cindy Mazur, of California; his stepfather, Nick Bond, of Florida; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Brannon and Donna Copeland, of Greenville. Services will be Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at 10 a.m. at Mauldin First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Archie Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland East Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary on Century Drive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Scholarship Foundation, 4 McGee St., Greenville, SC 29601.
