Albert Pooser Stallings passed away on Monday, April 21, at his home in Hollywood, S.C. He was born in Charleston, S.C., on August 5, 1930, the son of Marjorie Pooser Stallings and the late Edmund O. Stallings. Mr. Stallings is survived by his wife, Faye Oliver Stallings, his mother, Marjorie P. Stallings and sister, Kathleen B. Stallings, both of Chapel Hill, N.C., two sons, William B. Stallings of Jacksonville, Fla., Thomas A. Stallings of Houston, Texas, three daughters, Suzanne E. Decker of Charleston, Irene M. McColl of Chicago, Ill., and Margaret M. Keating of Charlotte, N.C., two step-daughters, Tanya O. Palumbo of Florence, S.C., and Sherri O. Harrison of Hollywood, and 16 grandchildren. Mr. Stallings attended Charleston High School and graduated from Carlysle Military Academy. He was a 1951 graduate of the Citadel, attended Temple University and Georgetown University Law School. He served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Al was a past member of the Exchange Club of Charleston and the German Friendly Society. He was in the Property Casualty Insurance Business, and also served as a volunteer Spanish Interpreter. A memorial service will be held at Christ-St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 12 noon on Saturday, April 26, 2003.
