William Gist Jeter, Jr., age 69, passed away Monday, June 13, 2005 at the V.A. Hospital in Charleston following an illness. Mr. Jeter was born April 9, 1936 in Columbia, S.C. a son of the late William G. Jeter, Sr. and the later Mary White Jeter. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served two tours in Vietnam War and was a graduate of the Citadel. Mr. Jeter was predeceased by his wife Mrs. Marguerite Bamburg Jeter. Survivors include one son, William Gist Jeter, III and his wife JIll of Nichols; two daughters, Mary Gist Jeter of Chicago, Ill. and Cynthia Bamburg Jeter of Garden City; one stepson, Russell Beaird of Leesville; one stepdaughter, Sheri Hughes and her husband, Ken of Leesville; two sisters, Mary Bryant of Orangeburg and Patricia Thomas of Danville; three grandchildren, Ryan Murphy, Jackson Gist Jeter and Isabella Jolie Jeter and six step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Louisiana under the direction of the Ward Funeral Home of Loris, S.C.
