LT. COl. SAMUEL JEROME JERRY WEINBERG COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Lt. Colonel (U.S. Army Retired) Samuel Jerome Jerry Weinberg, age 76, passed away on Nov. 27, 2004, in Colorado Springs. He was born Nov. 14, 1928, in Gastonia, N.C., a son of the late Henry J. and Virginia Wiley Weinberg. In 1951 he was married to Sarah Speake Stickney Weinberg. She resides in Colorado Springs. He is also survived by two daughters, Katherine Gaylor of Ellicott City, Md., and Lindsey Poppe of Manassas, Va.; son Richard Weinberg of Jericho, Vt.; and four grandchildren. Mr. Weinberg graduated from the Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina in 1950. He served 20 years in the U.S. Army, retiring in 1970 as a Lt. Colonel. He served overseas in England, Japan, Korea and Germany. Jerry was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs, the Retired Officers Association, ORBS and the Silver Spruce Golf. Visitation will be from 1 until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1, in Faith Presbyterian Church, 1529 North Circle Drive, Colorado Springs. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, in Faith Presbyterian Church. Jerry’s cremains will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation , 801 North Cascade, Colorado Springs, Colo. 80903.
