Charles F. Banker, of Sacramento, Calif., passed away peacefully on July 25, 2013, at the age of 86. He was born and raised in Rochester, NY, but had made California his home since 1956. He attended The Citadel and graduated from Syracuse University. He worked 40+ years in the aerospace industry. He was a veteran of WWII and retired as a Colonel in the US Army Reserve. He had been a volunteer at Santa Clara County Sheriff Dept., City of Santa Clara PD, and Kaiser South. He enjoyed playing bridge, boating on the Delta, played bag pipes for years, and was a lover of cats. A lifelong learner and avid reader, in his retirement he enjoyed many courses at CSUS and participation in Elder Hostels. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gail; daughters – Karen (Thomas) Bunch, Lynne (John) Filson, and Christine Banker; grandchildren Glenn, Jaime, Shayna, and Andrew; and two great granddaughters, Abigail and Aria.
