Samuel H. Husbands Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in San Francisco after a year long battle with cancer. Sam was born in Florence, South Carolina on 05/28/1928 to Samuel Henry Husbands and Teressa Dew Husbands. He graduated from the Citadel in 1950 with a B.S. in Engineering. After graduation he moved to San Francisco to begin a long career as a stock broker with Dean Witter, now Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. He took a leave from his brokerage career and was attached to the French Airforce in Indochina until the region was engulfed by the Vietnam War. He returned to San Francisco and continued his career until his retirement in 2000. He is survived by his sister, Patricia C.H. Berton and her husband, Dr. William Berton of Omaha, Nebraska, nephews, Mark Berton, James Berton and niece, Patrica Berton-Johnson. A grave side service will be held on Monday, May 14th, at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Florence, South Carolina at 11:00 A.M. Tags: 1950
