Furman Baxter “Skip” Riddle, Jr., 62, husband of Carole Hayes Riddle, of 5 Parkins Point Way, Greenville, died December 12, 2011. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Furman B. and Joclyn Reid Riddle. Mr. Riddle was a graduate of the class of 1971 at the Citadel, and was President and owner of Woodtectonics. He was the kind of man whose mere presence left you a better person. He was an avid outdoorsman. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Seth Howell Riddle of Nashville, TN, Drew Wilson Riddle of Charleston, SC, and Reid Harvey Riddle of Greer; a sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne Lee and Art Pitman of Evergreen, CO; a brother, Don Riddle of Gray Court; two grandchildren, Johnny Jones Riddle and Glenys Pearl Riddle; father and mother-in-law, Patrick and Janet Hayes of Fairfax, VA; and a sister-in-law, Linda Christine Hayes of Greenville. A memorial service will be Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive, with Sister Josephine officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 until 3:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
