Jackson Hutchinson Moore, of Mt. Pleasant, entered into eternal rest on the evening of October 11, 2011, Jackson Hutchinson Moore, widower of Beverly Hitchcock Moore. Residence, Mt. Pleasant, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 11:00 am in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Stuhr’s West Ashley Chapel Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service. Mr. Moore was born July 9, 1929 in Jackson, TN, the son of John Marion Moore and Lala Hutchinson Moore. He was a graduate of The Citadel, Class of 1950 and served with the United States Air Force as 1st Lieutenant, during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Moore was the retired President of Moore Drum, Inc. Jack was a life member of the Association of Citadel Men, life member of The Charleston Citadel Club and a life member of The Citadel General’s Club. He was also a member of Association of Container Reconditioners, formerly the National Barrel and Drum Association. He is survived by a daughter: Cynthia Moore Denning (Jim) of Greenville, SC; a son: Jackson H. Moore, Jr. (Elsa) of Charleston, SC; a sister: Alice Moore of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three grandchildren: Sandra Zapp, Carolyn Moore and Michael Krueger. He is predeceased by a son, Michael Marion Moore and a daughter Donna Lea Moore. Memorials may be made to the Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul, 126 Coming Street, Charleston, SC 29403.
