Hugh Millen “Buddy” Gill Jr., 63, of Chester, SC, passed away Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at his home. A native of Chester County, Mr. Gill was born Oct. 17, 1946, son of the late Hugh Millen Gill Sr. and the late Martha Douglas Gill. He was a sales representative for Humana, a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and was a 1968 graduate of the Citadel. Surviving are his wife, Robin McGuire Gill; a daughter, Anna Douglas Gill; three sisters, Polly Guyton of Blythewood, S.C., Angie Payne of Charlotte, N.C., and Lynn Hatcher of Greenville, S.C. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Union ARP church in Richburg. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Gill will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Union ARP Church, with. Dr. J. Allen Derrick and Pastor Ron Roddey officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church cemetery.
