Frank D. Cline, 87, died May 30, 2010, at Asheville’s Deerfield Episcopal Assisted Living Center after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was a graduate of The Citadel and a veteran of World War II. In his early years, he resided in Raleigh where he worked for T.A. Loving and in Winston-Salem as president of Warren Brothers. Retirement took him to western North Carolina where he enjoyed the tennis courts in the cool mountains. His survivors include a daughter, Catherine Cline Pfaff of Banner Elk; one son, Franklin Cline of Wake Forest; one granddaughter, Caitlin Cline; a brother, Robert and his wife, Carolyn Cline of Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Any Humane Society or Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s of the Hills Episcopal Church in Blowing Rock, NC on June 10 at 2:00 p.m. Tags: 1948
