James Balloch, Jr., 83, of Mauldin, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2010. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, he was the son of the late James Balloch, Sr. and Sarah Cathcart Balloch. He attended The Citadel University and served in the United States Marines during World War II and later graduated from Clemson University. James was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a charter member of the Wade Hampton Kiwanis, member of the Greenville Elks Club, the Cooper Masonic Lodge of Travelers Rest, the AATCC Chemist Assn. and retired from Multi-Chem Corp as a Sales Rep. He is survived by his wife, Vera H. Balloch of Mauldin, and a son, James Balloch, III of Knoxville, Tenn.; a cousin, Jack Balloch of Philadelphia, Pa., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Monday, March 1, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with entombment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1 until 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Tags: 1947
