Jacqueline Alaine (Jackie) Katz, 63, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Born on February 6, 1947, in Brookline, Massachusetts, Jackie was the daughter of the late Saul Katz and Dorothea Anne Cronin Katz. She graduated from Winthrop University and received her Master’s Degree in Education from The Citadel. She was a member of the South Carolina Middle School Association and a member of Circular Congregational Church. Jackie was a member of The Association for Supervision of Curriculum Development, The PTSA for Newington Elementary School, SC2 – The SC Science Association, The PTSA for Gregg Middle School, The National Science Foundation, and The SC Educators Association She is survived by her sister, Cynthia Katz of Mt. Pleasant, SC., as well as a number of cousins. She is also survived by Madison Elizabeth Murrell Peterson and Mackenzie Joye Peterson of Summerville, SC. The family requests that memorials be made to the , 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29406. Relatives and friends of Jackie Katz are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Friday, July 9, 2010, in J HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens at a later date. The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 12:00 noon until time of the service.
