Wolfe Maier Hyman, of Charleston, entered into eternal rest on the evening of September 14, 2009, Wolfe Maier Hyman. Residence, Charleston, SC. His graveside services were held Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at three o’clock in Brith Sholom Beth Israel Cemetery, “Maryville”. Mr. Hyman was born May 29, 1930, in Charleston, SC, the son of Herman Hyman and Marie (Miriam) Karesh Hyman. He was a graduate of The Citadel, Class of 1952. He was a member of Brith Sholom Beth Israel Synagogue, an active member of ORT and many Jewish organizations. Maier valued honesty in business, charitable giving and loving his children and grandchildren. He was the owner of Hyman’s Wholesale Dry Goods. He is survived by one daughter: Joile Brody (Aaron) of Jerusalem, Israel; three sons: Aaron Hyman (Sylvia) of Charleston, SC, Eli Hyman (Ann-Therese) of Charleston, SC, Joshua Hyman (Nava) of El Azar, Israel; one sister: Shifra Rosen of Charleston, SC; and 18 grandchildren. Maier was loved by his family, friends and will dearly missed. The family will observe Shiva at the residence of Eli-Ann-Therese from Noon until 7:30 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday.
