Robert Alexander Pringle, Sr., M.D., entered into eternal rest on the morning of September 20, 2008, husband of Barbara Baldock Pringle. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Dr. and Mrs. Robert A. Pringle, Sr. are invited to attend the funeral services of the former Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at eleven o’clock in The French Huguenot Church. Interment, Private. Friends may call at 44 Queen Street, Charleston, SC 29401 for a reception and visitation following the service. Dr. Pringle was born January 1, 1921 in Charleston, SC, the son of Walter Pringle and Annie Whitehead Pringle. He attended the Citadel and the College of Charleston and graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina. He was a member of the American Medical Association, the South Carolina Medical Society, American Academy of Family Practice, The Huguenot Society of South Carolina, St. Cecilia Society, South Carolina Society, The Charleston Club, Carolina Yacht Club. He was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and The French Huguenot Church. He served as a Commander in the Medical Corps in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He practiced family medicine for over fifty years in Charleston County. He is survived by his wife; a son, Dr. Robert A. Pringle, Jr. and his wife, Sheila, of Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Barbara Pringle Claypoole and her husband, Stanley, of Charleston and Anne Pringle Graham and her husband, John, of Johns Island; six grandchildren, Jay S. Claypoole, Pringle C. Jackson, Hannah R. Pringle, Robert A. Pringle, III, Edward Christian and Anne G. Graham; sister-in-law, Adeline Pringle Merrill of Charleston; and two great grandchildren, Lillian M. Claypoole and Jesse D. Claypoole. Memorials may be made to The French Huguenot Church, P. O.
