Baynard, Robert Parks BAYNARD, ROBERT PARKS Charlotte — Mr. Baynard, 88, died peacefully on August 5, 2008, in Orlando, FL. Bob was born on June 13, 1920 in Charlotte, NC, son of the late John Wilkinson Baynard and his wife, Marie Girroir. Survivors include his 4 loving children; Harriet Baynard Ham (Jim) of San Carlos, CA; John Wilkinson Baynard (Suzanne Rothschild) of Arlington, MA; Susan Baynard Clayton (Fred) of Orlando, FL; and Robert Parks Baynard Jr. (Willa) of New York, NY; 9 beloved grandchildren; David, Catherine and John (Jessica) Ham; Peter and Charlotte Baynard; Bo (Tara) and Walker Clayton; Kate and Caroline Baynard; and two great-grandsons, Sean Ham and Jack Ham. His brothers, William Baynard of Charlotte and James Baynard of Greensboro, also survive him. Bob and his wife, Keitt, lived in Charlotte, NC for fifty-two years and moved to Orlando four years ago to live with the family of their daughter Susan. Keitt died in Orlando on December 29, 2007 after 55 years of marriage. Bob grew up in Charlotte and graduated from Central High School. In 1942, Bob graduated from The Citadel, where he made a number of life-long friends. He served in the US Army during World War II. Bob worked for many years in sales and management for Allied Chemical and later formed his own manufacturers’ agency from which he retired at age 83. He devoted 34 wonderful years to the Myers Park-Trinity Little League, where he assisted Jake Wade as a coach of the Harry & Bryant team and served on the board of directors. Bob and his wife were devoted parishioners of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Charlotte where he was a Sunday School teacher, lay-reader, and vestry member. He was also a long-time member of the Charlotte Country Club. A memorial service will take place on Monday, August 18 at 2PM at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church 2499 N. Westmoreland Dr. Orlando, FL.
