David H. Hellman, Born April 26, 1925 died June 12, 2008. Beloved husband to Doris, father of Allen , Richard and Marc. Grandfather to Eric, Alison, Adam, Charles, Mary, Michael and Matthew. David was born in Chester, S.C. and holds a B.S. Degree from the Citadel. He volunteered for the US Army and served in the European Theater. He holds the Purple Heart, three battle stars, Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star. His unit received the Presidential Citation and the Fleur de Guerre from France. He did graduate studies at the Univ. of South Carolina and the Univ. of Tennessee. David began his career in textiles and in 1973 became the owner of Sidney Springer Company in Los Angeles. David and Doris raised their family in: Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, Maracay, Venezuela and New Jersey. David was active in B’nai B’rith and enjoyed golf, bridge, reading, music, cooking, gardening and traveling. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society or National Kidney Foundation. Graveside service will be held on Monday, June 16th at 10 a.m. at Mt.
