Major John K. Easton II, U.S. Air Force retired, 40, of Wilmington, died 5:05 a.m. Saturday (April 26, 2008) at Hospice of Dayton. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Ann Taylor Easton. They were married Dec. 14, 1991. Major Easton was born June 5, 1967, in Kettering, son of Paulina Kaiser Easton of Wilmington and the late John K. Easton. Major Easton retired from the U.S. Air Force in October 2003. He was a logistic planning officer and had served as logistic commander for NATO in Kalkar, Germany. During his military career, he received the Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Organizational Excellence Award with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. He was an alumnus of The Citadel – The Military College of South Carolina. He later received a master’s degree from Hawaii Pacific in Honolulu. He was a member of the Wilmington Presbyterian Church and the F&AM lodge in Dayton. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Ashley (Wilkie) Santos of Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., and Kelsey Easton of Wilmington; three sisters, Jean Ann Easton of Cincinnati,, Polly Taylor of Wilmington and Lisa (Tim) Jackson of Wildwood, Mo.; two grandchildren, Taylor Santos and Rayley Santos; his father-in-law, Wayne (Ruby) Taylor of White Oak, Texas; three brothers-in-law, Wayne (Dianne) Taylor of Texas, Doug (Gina) Taylor of Louisiana and Eric (Dorothy) Taylor of Texas; and a sister-in-law, Tracy (Steven) Bruce of Texas. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Wilmington Presbyterian Church, 840 Timber Glen Drive, Wilmington, the Rev. David Judd officiating, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Wright Patterson Air Force Base Memorial Squad. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington.
