Ronald H. Sussman, 91, of Margate City, N.J., passed away peacefully at home on November 7th, just shy of his 92nd birthday with his family by his side. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Camden, NJ, Ron attended The Citadel in Charleston, SC and went on to serve as an Officer in the Army during the Korean War. Ron worked hard and played hard, lived life well and if you believed him, “never had a bad day in his life.” He was blessed with a loving family, tons of good friends and a dedication in helping to make the world a better place. After returning home from duty, he met Judy, the love of his life. Together they raised a beautiful family. Ronald valued his family more than anything and believed that “the level in which people can be held in the highest regard is measured by those around him,” which was evident by the many lives he touched over the years. Ronald was an active member of many charities throughout his life and became very involved with the Jewish War Veterans and Avoda during his senior years. Ron was athletic and strove to do some form of physical activity every day. He could be seen speed walking on the boardwalk, throwing horseshoes on the beach, working out at the JCC, or playing golf. Throughout his life, he and Judy worked hard to stay active and during his younger years he completed several NYC marathons with his dear friend, Steve Gadon. Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judith (nee: Dubin). He is survived by his loving children, Dr. Ernest (Fleur) Sussman, Michelle Gardner, Norm Imber and Ellen (Dr. David) Cohen, beloved grandchildren, Jennifer (Adam) Busler, Jacqueline (Joseph) Masters, Allison Cohen, Maxwell Weinstein, Bernard (Sunny) Cohen, Nuriel Sussman and Matan Sussman, along with their great-grandsons Gavin and Lucas. Services are private at the request of the family. Condolences and a livestream of services will be offered Today, Thursday November 10th, at 12 noon at www.JSGFunerals.com. In lieu of donations, Ron would have asked for you to sit on the beach with your friends and loved ones, making sure there’s a large ice-cold thermos of your favorite beverage for all to share. We won’t divulge his spirit of choice, but those who knew him well will figure this one out. Through good times and bad, Ronald Sussman always had a positive attitude and if ever asked how he felt would frequently reply “I never had a bad day in my life.” Services in the care of J.S.
