Th McKissick Library

This elegant room is perfect for executive-level meetings for groups of eight or less.

The McKissick Library is the focal point of the front of the Holliday Alumni Center. Located on the second floor above the drive-through portico, the library is a truly magnificent facility unto itself.

The beautiful wood and glass doors, etched with cadets from the 1800s and today, open into a high, arched-ceiling room filled with furnishings constructed of superior quality hardwoods and fine leathers and fabrics. The handsome ironwork chandelier is much like those which illuminate Summerall Chapel. The handcrafted oak bookcases, which will be the envy of every cadet graduate, are filled with donated Citadel yearbooks, copies of alumni-authored books and other collectibles. It will be a place for alumni to relive "...the Days of Thy Youth."

This library is anything but dark and stuffy. Glass doors on the north, east and south sides of the room open onto balconies which overlook the Alumni Center and Johnson Hagood Stadium. The balconies, reminiscent of those in the cadet barracks, are sure to be a choice spot for viewing the Corps of Cadets as it marches into the stadium.

A. Foster McKissick III, '78, and his wife Murray, of Greenville, sponsored this room in memory of A. Foster McKissick II. Their generous donation for this room continues to demonstrate their support of the Association and The Citadel through the years.

Absolutely NO FOOD OR DRINK is allowed in the McKissick Library. Refreshments may be served in the upper foyer for a meeting in the Library.
