The Grand Foyer
The Grand Foyer is the first thing seen when entering the Alumni Center. You'll enter through the laser-etched glass doors and your eyes will immediately be drawn to the portrait of John Monroe and Marjorie Holliday which was painted by Michael Del Priore.
As you look around the area accented by the rich wainscot paneling, you will notice the beautiful flooring and large laser-etched Association seal which were sponsored by the Class of 1980. The back-lit stained glass seal of the Asociation is a gift of the Class of 1949, and the handsome wall recognition plaques were sponsored by the Class of 1985. Make sure you take the stairs or elevator to view the grand foyer from the second floor as well.
Lighting the Grand Foyer is an impressive chandellier surrounded by silhouettes of The Citadel campus. The Class of 1956 sponsored the chandellier.
Designed as a gathering point for your guests, the Grand Foyer may be considered as the site for a rental function. The 2-story area accommodates 150 for a stand-up cocktail party. A service area is also available.
Area Dimensions: 30 Feet x 40 Feet
